carbon offsetting
According to a study by Nature Food, the world’s food systems account for more than one-third of global greenhouse gas emissions. Exporting and importing food products account for a huge chunk of the total carbon footprint – including processing and packaging. The burning of fossil fuels to transport food for long distances by air, ship, truck and rail releases carbon dioxide (CO2), the primary gas responsible for global warming.
our commitment
Our company has made a commitment to minimize our impact on the environment by reducing the carbon footprint associated with our operations and balancing it with trade in sustainable farming practices, processing and packaging.
To execute our offsetting program, we work tirelessly to act as responsible stewards to all the stakeholders that rely on us. By doing so, we:
Encourage Substainbility
Collaborate only with farmers and suppliers that engage in safe, socially and environmentally responsible farming practices.
Earn Carbon Credits
We plant trees and use clean sources of energy, whenever possible. We encourage the locals we engage with to do the same, and support them in this initiative.
Waste Management
Balance environmentally friendly purchasing practices that maximize recyclable content, with cost-effective, clean safe packaging of produce.
Substainable Farming
We seek to trade in sustainable, carbon-neutral/ negative food produce such as pulses, that are grown using farming practices that improve our air, water and earth.
